Naela Quadri Baloch urges Balochistan to boycott Pakistan Elections accusing manipulations by ISI and Pak Army

Quetta, July 24: Naela Quadri Baloch who is a known Baloch activist and President of World Baloch Women’s Forum on Tuesday urged the people in Balochistan to boycott Pakistan General Elections to be accusing Pakistani Army and ISI of manipulations. Notably, Pakistan General Elections to be held on July 25.

 

Naela Quadri Baloch Quoted saying 'Our free and sovereign country was occupied by Pakistan and it is violating all International laws' while urging people in Balochistan to boycott Pakistan General Elections. She further accused Pakistani Army and ISI of manipulating the elections.

She said, “They are forcefully abducting innocent civilians of Balochistan, displacing the Baloch villages and taking people to Army camps for forceful casting of votes. Baloch people don't want to be part of Pakistan.”

Another Baloch activist Munir Mengal said, “Elections are tailored and manipulated by Pak Army through its organizations like Inter-Services Intelligence and Military Intelligence.” Baloch people are already disappointed with elections process as it's a clear selection process in Balochistan,” he added.

However, campaigning for General elections came to an end last night. The contestants and leaders including PML-N Chief Shahbaz Sharif, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chief Imran Khan and Pakistan Peoples Party leader Bilawal Bhutto Zardari made last-ditch efforts to woo voters before the end of the deadline.

Over 12,570 candidates, including a number of hard-line clerics and terrorists are contesting the elections to 849 seats of Parliament and four provincial assemblies. As many as 4.5 lakh policemen and over 3 lakh Army troops will be deployed on the polling day.

Opposition parties and various organizations have expressed concern over the powers granted to military units overseeing the polling stations, saying that the move could erode trust in the contest.

Amongst four provinces of Pakistan, Balochistan, Pakistan occupied Kashmir (Pok) and Sindh is demanding for its independence due to Islamabad’s worst rule and apathy towards the people of this regions.
