Carrying cultural legacy of Guru-Shishya relation, Sachin Tendulkar bows to his guru Ramakant Achrekar on #GuruPurnima

Mumbai, July 28: ‘Master Blaster’ Indian Cricket player Tendulkar, sought blessings of Ramakant Achrekar on the occasion of Guru Purnima on Friday. Tendulkar has shared two pictures on Twitter, in which he and Atul Ranade can be seen to be blessed by Achrekar. This proves that whatsoever the peak you have achieved but you should always bow to your Guru who has shown you the path of success.


 

He wrote on Twitter, “Today, #GuruPurnima, is the day we remember those who have taught us to be better versions of ourselves. Achrekar Sir, I couldn’t have done all this without you. 🙏 Don’t forget to thank your gurus and take their blessings. #AtulRanade and I just did.”

It is worth noting that Achrekar used to coach Sachin Tendulkar at Shivaji Park in Dadar, central Mumbai.

Sachin Tendulkar was joined by his elder brother Ajit to Ramakant Achrekar. Since this meeting, the script was written for Sachin's 'Lord of Cricket'. Coach Ramakant Achrekar used to take young Tendulkar to practice at various places in the city.

At the same time, he used to spend good money on the good performance and even feed him. Coach Achrekar together with the small things made Tendulkar the Lord of cricket. Ramakant Achrekar was honored with Padma Shri (the fourth highest civilian award in the country) and the Dronacharya Award (for an excellent coach in sports and sports) in the year 1990 in India.

Tendulkar had made his international debut against Pakistan in Karachi at the age of 16. Simultaneously, he started to become his greatest batsman in cricket.

 

This right-handed Indian batsman played 200 Tests for India, in which he scored 15,921 runs at an impressive average of 53.78. He played 463 ODIs, in which he scored 18,426 runs at an average of 44.83. He made 100 international centuries (51 in Tests and 49 in ODIs). He became the first cricketer to score 200 runs in ODIs.
