Nasik, July 3: The much awaited hi-tech advances seen in the technological era, Maharashtra have opened its gates to seek blessings of Aai (mother) at the Saptashrungi Gad in Nasik. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated the first funicular trolley in Saptashringi Gad for the benefit of the devotees.

Speaking at the inauguration, CM Devendra Fadnavis said that inaugurating the funicular trolley has sought to be a historic event. With this the service served to the devotees is one of the world-class service provided by the government. This funicular trolley would boost the tourism as it is one of the most significant aspects of the leveling up the economy of the country. The trolley would enable the devotees to seek blessings and added that this would also boost tourism.

 

The Chief Minister noted that the funicular trolley would make an easy access for the devotees to visit the Saptashringi Gad and seek the blessings. Highlighting the needs provided to the people in Switzerland, the same services enabled for the people in India. Congratulating the administration for the work they have accomplished, the Chief Minister hailed the achievements conquered by them.

Enabling a world-class facility, the administration has aided to facilitate Aai’s devotees, especially senior citizens & divyang as there will be no staircase to reach the temple. Safety measures have also been sought out for the people and undoubtedly the facilities have permitted the citizens to seek blessings. This has also given an open door to employment in the country.

 

The funicular trolley will function for pilgrims who horde the famed Saptashrungi Devi hilltop Temple. This move will help the pilgrims to reach the divine hilltop easily and will also reduce their time. Maharashtra PWD Engineer Hande said that “The Funicular Trolley which is common in several international mountain resorts and villages in Switzerland, Russia, and other places will zoom up the 1,400 meters tall Saptashrungi Hills in the picturesque north end of Western Ghats to the temple atop.” The trolley has an elevation that will enable the pilgrims to reach the top hill within three minutes.

 

At present, it’s a difficult climb of 510 steps which can take anything between one and two hours, depending on the pilgrim’s health and stamina and therefore keep the health of people under consideration the Maharashtra government took this decision.

The temple attracts around four million pilgrims from all over India annually. The ride gives a view of the lush green and often misty forests on all sides, reportedly teeming with rare medicinal plants and herbs and the rugged seven hill peaks in the vicinity surrounding the Sapta (seven) Shrungi (peaks) top where Saptashrungi Devi’s imposing abode has come up.
