Young lawmaker Dinesh Gundurao to head Karnataka Congress

Bengaluru, July 4: Young Congress Lawmaker Dinesh Gundurao has been appointed as the in-charge of Karnataka Congress. In an official communication, Congress shared the information about the new state President.

Dinesh Gundurao, a five-time MLA of Gandhinagar constituency will replace incumbent KPCC Chief  G Parameswara, who has been elevated as the Dy-Chief Minister. Former Minister Eswar Khandre will be the new KPCC Working President, a post held by Gundu Rao.  

Dinesh Gundu Rao is the son of former Karnataka Chief Minister R Gundu Rao. A prominent media face, Rao was a national spokesperson for the All-India Congress Committee. Rao also served as the Food and Civil Supplies Minister in Siddaramaiah led Congress government.

Considered as the close aide of former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, the 48-year-old leader was instrumental in handling Congress lawmaker during the dramatic development of floor test in Karnataka assembly.
