PM Modi breaks down recalling #AtalBihariVajpayee’s teaching about sangathan and shasan; says lost a father figure

New Delhi, August 17: As soon as the demise of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee was announced by AIIMS on Thursday, the whole nation including Prime Minister Narendra and other ministers went into deep grief and tears. PM Modi while condoling Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s death said that the loss was his personal. Remembering him, PM Modi said, "Atalji taught me valuable aspects about 'sangathan' (organization) and 'shaasan' (administration).”

 

In a televised address, PM Modi described Atal Bihari Vajpayee as a father figure and said that his death could never be filled. He also said that former PM Vajpayee through his leadership and struggles strengthened the Jan Sangh and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). “He took both the parties across India and spread the policies and philosophy of the BJP to the people,” the Prime Minister added.

PM Modi got emotional while saying that he lost a father figure today in his address. He said, “I have lost a father figure.” "Atalji taught me valuable aspects about 'sangathan' (organisation) and 'shaasan' (administration),” the Prime Minister added.

PM Modi also noted that whenever he met Vajpayee, the latter hugged him with affection. "We have lost our inspiration. We have lost an 'Atal Ratna'. The personality of Atalji and the sadness due to his demise cannot be described in words. The void cannot be filled ever," he added. PM Modi, in the end, hailed the BJP stalwart as a wonderful orator, a prolific writer and one who dutifully served the country.


PM Modi later paid floral tributes to the mortal remains of Atal Bihari Vajpayee at his residence at 6A, Krishna Menon Marg.

Earlier, in a series of tweet, PM Modi mourned the passing of BJP patriarch Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Calling it the "end of an era" he said the "exemplary leadership" of Vajpayee had "set the foundations for a strong, prosperous and inclusive India in the 21st century".


Modi said that the "futuristic policies" of the three-time Prime Minister had "touched the lives of each and every citizen of India". The PM opined that it was Atal Ji's exemplary leadership that set the foundations for a strong, prosperous and inclusive India in the 21st century. “His futuristic policies across various sectors touched the lives of each and every citizen of India”, he added.

His initial tweet, a deeply emotional one in Hindi, read, "I'm speechless, I feel a great void".


Atal ji's PM Modi said in another tweet, was a "personal and irreplaceable loss" him. "I have countless fond memories with him. He was an inspiration to Karyakartas like me. I will particularly remember his sharp intellect and outstanding wit," read another tweet by the Prime Minister.


PM Modi had visited the 93-year-old leader five times since his admission in Delhi's All India Institute of Medical Sciences on June 11. However, on August 16, AIIMS issued a Press Release informing that the Former Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee passed away at 05:05 pm.
