PM Modi meets FIFA U-17 World Cup team

New Delhi, November 11: As a part of encouraging the youngsters, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the under-17 football team in New Delhi on Friday. This happened on the occasion of the 1st ever participation of Indian under-17 team in FIFA U-17 World Cup. 

PM Modi told them that he had seen some spark in them all and they have now become known. "There is a huge responsibility on your shoulders," Modi told the players after the meeting.

During the interaction, the players talked about the experience and exposure that they gained during FIFA, both on and off the field.

The Prime Minister encouraged the players to not feel disappointed with the outcome of the tournament, but to treat it as a learning opportunity. He said competing with enthusiasm and spirit is the first step to success.

PM Modi said India can achieve a lot in football. He also mentioned that sports helps in developing personality, building confidence, and in overall development.

Minister of State (I/C) for Youth Affairs and Sports, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, was present on the occasion.
