Palanpur (HP), Nov 2: Addressing an election rally at Palanpur in this poll-bound Himalayan State, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a swipe at the Congress terming it a ‘laughing club’.
The Prime Minister pointed to the Congress dichotomy in his public meeting, He said when the Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh was facing serious corruption charges, the party election manifesto talked about zero tolerance to corruption. Such ironical statements have reduced the party to a laughing club in the state, he said.
Pointing to corrupt record of the Congress party, the Prime Minister appealed to the people of Himachal Pradesh to get rid of these monsters from Devbhumi as the state is known for its serene beauty of nature and people.
The BJP has named former chief minister and senior BJP leader Prem Kumar Dhumal as party’s chief ministerial candidate for the November 9 Assembly elections. Party president Amit Shah made this announcement on Thursday. Results of the elections will be announced on December 18.
