Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu hails Telangana Chief Minister for making Telugu a compulsory subject

New Delhi, Sept 14: Applauding the move of Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao for taking a bold decision by making make Telugu a compulsory subject from 1st to 12th standards Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu advised that other state should follow the line of Telangana Government for the welfare of diverse regional languages in India.

Naidu, who hails from Andhra Pradesh also urged Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu to introduce similar policy intervention for the betterment of Telugu language.




Earlier during a review meeting of World Telugu Conference which will begin from December 15 at state Hyderabad, KCR came up with the decision to make Telugu a compulsory subject up to 12th standard. The Telangana Chief Minister also informed that all public and private schools should follow the directive of state government otherwise face the serious consequences.
