Chennai, January 31: Expressing concern over the hate campaigns against film personalities, Actor Kamal Haasan said that politicization of films is not a good sign for healthy democracy. Addressing a small gathering of engineering students here, the 63-year-old actor, recalled his old association with controversies fuelled by political leaders.

As quoted by The Indian Express, the ace actor admitted that his old blockbuster which had done exceedingly well at box-office could trigger controversies if made in this milieu. On this occasion, Haasan underlined the ragging protest against the Sanjay Lila Bhansali’s Padmaavat. The award-winning actor also condemned the attack on School children by fringe elements in the name of protest against flicks.

In 2013, the Ulaganayagan had to face the heat from Tamil Nadu government under Jayalalithaa which obstructed the grand release of Kamal Haasan starrer Vishwaroopam. According to media reports, the Superstar is very keen on releasing the second installment of Vishwaroopam 2 where the film is under post-production work. The aspiring actor feels that due to his decision of political foray, Vishwaroopam 2 might meet the same fate as its prequel. If everything goes well, Vishwaroopam 2 will hit the screens in April.
