Gandhinagar, December 27: After the recent accidents involving school/coaching institute's buses during picnic/outstation trips in which at least 11 people including 9 students had died, the Gujarat government on Wednesday decided to not to allow buses carrying students to ply between 11 pm to 6 am.
Deputy CM Nitin Patel today told newsmen here that this decision has been taken in the cabinet meeting presided over by CM Vijay Rupani today.
Notably, recently 10 people including 9 students had died when a bus of a private coaching institute in Surat had fallen in a deep gorge in Dangs district late evening while returning from a picnic trip. The conductor of another such bus carrying students of an Ahmedabad based school had during its return from an outstation trip, had died and more than 20 students had injured when it met with an accident in Panchmahal district.
Patel said that the state government had taken note of such incidents and decided to ban the plying of student's buses during the night (between 11 pm to 6 am).
'The schools will have to make proper arrangements for night stay of students during all such future trips,' he added.
