ED attaches land of AJL in Panchkula

New Delhi Dec 3:
The Enforcement Directorate has attached a plot of land in Panchkula allotted to the Associated Journals Limited (AJL) by the Haryana government in 2005.

The day, December 1 CBI filed a charge sheet against former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and others for allegedly using fraudulent means to allot land to AJL. Same day provisional attachment order was issued.

"... Since, the value of plot fraudulently alloted to AJL has represented proceeds of crime, the ED has attached plot under PMLA act," the statement said. It has done saw under the anti-money laundering law, the agency said.

The plot has been attached under Section 5 of PMLA (Attachment of property involved in money-laundering) and further investigation is in process, officials said.

Short History of the case
 

1938 - Nehru established National Herald to be run by AJL, Associated Journals Limited

Initially, 1000 people(investors) together owned the company.

2008- AJL is in financial Crisis with 2000cr worthy property. They shut down National Herald

To help AJL to pay off its employees, Sonia Gandhi gives Congress Party's funds of 90cr to AJL in 2008. Young India (YI) Pvt. Ltd. is founded with 76% of shares Sonia and Rahul Gandhi were the owners.
 

YI now owns 99% of AJL which is worth 2000crs. The Gandhis (YI) pay just 50lakhs to Congress and acquire the company worth 2000crs in real estate which originally was owned by some other 1000 people.
