End all diplomatic relations with Vatican: Subramanian Swamy

New Delhi, May 23: Demanding a stringent action against the religious appeal of Delhi Archbishop with reference to 2019 elections, senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy has asked the central government to snap all diplomatic relations with the Vatican. The Rajya Sabha member took to Twitter and opined that ministry of external affairs must seal the Embassy of the Holy see Vatican in the national capital.

Yesterday, BJP National President Amit Shah also condemned the letter written by Archbishop of Delhi and lambasted at the opposition for backing such politically motivated appeals. The On May 12, Archbishop of Delhi Anil JT Couto had called upon churches to organize a year-long prayer campaign ahead of the 2019 general elections. Archbishop’s religious appeal had triggered controversy when the alleged letter was surfaced in social media.
