Congress President Rahul Gandhi writes to CBSE chief ; demands probe in NEET data theft

New Delhi, July 24: Congress President Rahul Gandhi has urged CBSE chairman Anita Karwal to probe the alleged data leak of candidates who appeared for National eligibility and entrance exam (NEET) this year.

In an official letter, Gandhi dubbed the reported data theft as incapability of the CBSE in safeguarding important documents of the students. He further added that the apex education body did not maintain the security arrangements in order to prevent the privacy of lakhs of students.

Citing media reports, Rahul claimed that information about 2,00,000 students and available on various digital platforms. The Amethi Lawmaker also sought an inquiry and demanded stern action against the culprits and concern officials who were involved in the CBSE data leak.

Earlier in May, near about 13 lakh candidates appeared for the national medical entrance exam. CBSE is the main body which conducts NEET for admission to medical and dental colleges across the country.
