New Delhi, December 04: "There are perceptional differences between India and China on border issues," Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said on Wednesday asserting that the Indian Army is fully alert and the border is secured.

Speaking in Lok Sabha during the Zero Hour, Singh said transgression by Chinese forces do take place and Indian forces also too go for patrolling along forward locations. "Whenever a situation of confrontation comes between forces of both they handle it maturely. All this happens due to perceptional differences between India and China on issues related to border," he said.

He said forces of the two countries are mature enough and settle their disputes amicably. Meanwhile, Chowdhury raised the issue in the wake of spotting of a Chinese ship in India's exclusive economic zone in the Andaman sea.

This is ahead of the 8th India-China joint training exercise 'Hand-In-Hand 2019' with the theme underlined United Nations mandate is scheduled to be conduct at Umroi, Meghalaya from 07 to 20 December 2019 that aims for enhanced joint planning and conduct of counter terrorist operations in semi urban terrain.

While the exercise is planned at the company level with respective Battalion Headquarters controlling the training, the Chinese contingent from the Tibet Military command comprising of 130 personal and the Indian Contingent of similar strength are slated to participate in the 14 day long training exercise.

The exercise didn’t take place in 2017 due to the 72-days long standoff between Indian and Chinese troops in Doklam. The standoff brought a drastic change in ties between the two countries, which later normalised following the disengagement of the standoff in August last year. While the strength of either side in Doklam has reduced, the army is continuously monitoring Chinese activities in the area.
