Fighting hard against terrorism, Security forces neutralise Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists in fierce encounter

Kulgam, May 22: In an ensuing encounter in Kulgam area of Jammu and Kashmir, the security forces gunned down two terrorists on Wednesday. Additional security forces have been rushed to the area for strengthening the cordon.

 

DIG South Kashmir Atul Kumar Goel informed that 2 terrorists were neutralised. They have been identified as Zahid Mantoo of Shopian & Irfan Ahmad Bhat of Kulgam. Both belong to Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist group. Huge quantity of arms, ammunition & explosives were recovered from the bodies.

On Saturday, one suspected terrorist was “neutralised” in an encounter with security forces in Kashmir’s Sopore of Baramulla. Arms and ammunition have been recovered from the site of encounter. In the anti-militancy operation, the spokesman said, a cordon and search operation were launched by security forces in the Hathlangoo area of Sopore in north Kashmir's Baramulla district.

In another operation, three terrorists, including the one who was part of a group of ultras involved in the killing of Army jawan Aurangzeb last year, were on Saturday gunned down in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, the police said.

Three Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) terrorists were killed in a pre-dawn operation by security forces in Pulwama district of south Kashmir.
