New Delhi, August 3: ‘Responding to Pakistan’s unprovoked Artillery firing, the Indian Security forces reserved the right to retaliate. We did RETALIATE & we WILL RETALIATE again & RETALIATE very hard,” cited Chinar Corps Commander KJS Dhillon as he sharply conveyed a hotline message to Pakistan.

Addressing the media briefing, Commander KJS Dhillon in a brief attempt cleared the air by placing the facts and stating the condition of Jammu and Kashmir. The Commander asserted that the intelligence inputs triggered abnormal activities instigating that there are terror groups backed by Pakistan plotting to carry strike at Amarnath Yatra. The security forces took undue measures and foiled all attempts after receiving the inputs.

According to the intelligence reports, it has been reported that three Jasih-e-Mohammed (JeM) operatives were positioned in terror launch pads in Nezapir sector of PoK, opposite Indian post of Shahpur sector in Poonch. Also, this group had the direct operational backing of Pakistani SSG commandos deployed in this area and had planned to conduct a BAT (Border Action Team) operation against Indian troops along forwards posts of Barood, Sher, Shakti and Kaiyaan.

The reports also suggested that an IED attack was being planned on convoys of security forces along the Srinagar-Baramulla-Uri National highway in the near future, with materials to fabricate the IED already smuggled into the Valley.

The authorities are also being informed that Ibrahim Azhar, JeM Chief Masood Azhar’s brother, had resurfaced in PoK and was tasked to oversee operations of the banned terror organization. The appearance of a high ranked JeM operative triggered warnings that a major terror attack was imminent which further resulted in an escalation of Indian troops in the valley.

However, the terror plots were in their final stages of planning before crucial intelligence inputs were received by the Indian security establishment that resulted in the quick mobilization of troops for counter-insurgency operations. The Amarnath Yatra was also curtailed as a precautionary measure.

The Ministry of Home Affairs earlier had directed deployment of CRPF troops in the Kashmir Valley raising questions of big development. Likewise, after the intelligence inputs coming around, more troops were deployed enhancing security and safety of the people living in the Valley.
