Pioneering initiative! MHRD introduces AI study at school level

New Delhi, Sept. 13: Artificial Intelligence is one of the most important tools today for every problem. The reach of AI is spreading exceptionally. Understanding these steps of future, the Ministry of Human Resources and Development has prepared a new module for the introduction of the study of Artificial Intelligence at school level by joining hands with technology giants like Intel.
 
 

 
 
 
Addressing the Central Board of Secondary Education’s Teachers Awards 2018-19, Union Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishak said, "it is a big leap in our education system that artificial intelligence which was otherwise taught at the college level, is now been introduced from class 8th."
 
 
 
 
During the event, 34 teachers were felicitated for their outstanding and innovative contribution in the field of teaching.
 
Along with the award ceremony, three initiatives were also announced-
CBSE’s Calendar of Activity, ten manuals for schools, teachers and students and Vidya Daan.
 
Vidya Daan is a unique initiative in which a repository of content is prepared by the teachers by uploading study materials for students of class 6th to 10th on an on-line platform, Diksha App.
 
While addressing the event, awardees said that the internet is a great learning tool but the role of teachers has become more significant as the young and impressionable minds should be guided while accessing the internet.
