Dehradun, Nov 23 : Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has stated that Kumbh Mela will be held in its divine form at Haridwar in 2021, along with the consideration of the practical problems arising out of COVID 19.
The Kumbh Mela is planned to begin from Jan 14 2021, regarding which the Chief Minister arranged a meeting with the office-bearers of the Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad (ABAP). Rawat said that the Kumbh Mela preparations are being reviewed periodically and the state government is working effectively to ensure the convenience and safety of devotees, specially about COVID 19.
Kumbh Mela Officer Deepak Rawat has informed about the completion of most of the work by Dec 15. He said that work on nine new ghats, eight bridges and roads being built is nearing completion. Regarding the expected pilgrims to visit the Ghats during Kumbh Mela, the state minister of urban development and housing, Madan Kaushik has stated that 35 to 50 lakh people are expected to take the holy dip in Ganga daily, during the Kumbh Mela 2021.
