Italy's death toll surpasses China; Registers more than 3,400 deaths by Mar 20

Italy, March 20: Recording 427 deaths in last 24 hours due to the deadly novel coronavirus, Italy has now surpassed China's toll noting a total of 3,400 deaths by Thursday. Earlier, China being the worst-hit country, had recorded the most deaths the pandemic.
 
The Italian Civil Protection Agency reported,"iIncluding 5,322 news cases in Italy, the total number of cases in the country rose to 41,035" on Thursday at a news conference, which is still less than China as the number of cases is more than 81,000. China has officially reported 3,245 deaths from the virus, making it the second country to register the deaths after Italy.

While the world is putting in all efforts to create a social distance, Italy has taken the tally of death toll to 3,405 after registering 427 deaths in just a single day. The number of confirmed cases and deaths in the rest of the world has surpassed those in China, which has successfully blocked the virus with strict measures including a complete quarantine of Wuhan since January. China for its part reported that no new domestic cases were registered on Wednesday since the virus appeared in the central city of Wuhan in December, before spreading worldwide.
 
Due to increase in the toll in Italy, Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte said the national lockdown, which has been all around Europe, would be surged to April 3. Several nations tightened their borders and imposed lockdowns, trapping tens of millions of people in their homes.
 
A major change after Italy was France which had reported 108 more deaths over the last 24 hours, bringing the tally to 372 with more than 7,600 confirmed cases. California which is home for nearly 40 million people to prevent for spreading the virus as 19 people have died and more than 900 have tested positive for coronavirus. Nearly 220,000 people have now been confirmed with the coronavirus globally, of which at least 84,000 have recovered from COVID-19, while more than 9,000 have died across 168 countries.
