Palghar lynching: CID action exposes involvement of CPM, NCP activists

Palghar, May 14: Involvement of local activists of the Communist Party (Marxist) and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) was exposed with the arrest of four more accused by the CID while investigating the case.

Four activists of the Communist Party (Marxist) and NCP are amongst those arrested by the CID in this case.

Videos of the lynching of two Panchdashnami Juna Akhara sadhus – Mahant Kalpvruksh Giri Maharaj (70) and Mahant Sushil Giri Maharaj (35) and their driver Nilesh Telgade went viral showing Communist Party activist Vishnu Bhawar beating the Sadhus. The CID has taken this Vishnu Bhawar in custody. Besides, Rajesh Rao, Vinod Rao, and Ramdas Rao were also arrested by the CID in this case.

All three of them are believed to be active workers of the Communist Party of India (M). Meanwhile, Jankya Borsa, an activist of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) is also seen attacking the sadhus in a video. The CID has also taken this Jankya Borsa into custody.

These latest arrests by the CID has exposed the hollowness in the claim that this incident happened due to some kind of ‘misunderstanding’.
