Washinton DC, May 7: "The current pandemic is worse than anything that the US went through. It is the worst attack we’ve ever had in our country. This is really the worst attack we’ve ever had in U.S. history," US President Donald Trump said while speaking to reporters at the White House.

“We went through the worst attack we've ever had in our country. This is really the worst attack we've ever had. This is worse than Pearl Harbor. This is worse than the World Trade Center. There's never been an attack like this," Trump said.

Trump once again lashed out on China saying, "It could have been stopped at the source. It could have been stopped in China. It should have been stopped right at the source, and it wasn’t."

More than 3,000 people were killed in the 9/11 terrorist attack on the Trade Center in New York. And more than 2,400 American soldiers were killed and over 1,100 others were wounded when the Imperial Japanese Army launched a surprise attack at a Pearl Harbor naval base in Honolulu.

So far, more than 73,000 Americans have died of COVID-19, and the former director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention predicted the toll in the US could top 100,000 by the end of May. The United States is the worst affected country by the pandemic.
