BJP Leader abducted in J&K, Police launches search operations

Sopore (J&K), July 15: The Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a search operation to trace whereabouts of BJP leader Mehraj Din Malla who is kidnapped in Kashmir's Watergam. Malla, who is also the Vice President of Municipal Committee (MC) Watergam in Sopore area of Baramulla district was abducted by unknown persons earlier this morning, a BJP spokesperson informed.

The BJP spokesperson in Srinagar said Mallah was affiliated with the party’s youth wing. According to the reports, he was pushed into a car and taken away. The Sopore Police confirmed they were trying to track down his whereabouts.
 
Increase of Killings in Jammu And Kashmir
 
Recently, BJP leader Sheikh Waseem Bari at Bandipora, who along with his father and brother, was killed by the terrorists on July 8. Sheikh Waseem Bari was a former president of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Bandipora district, 60 km north of Srinagar.
 
Earlier last month, a Kashmiri Pandit Sarpanch named Ajay Pandita was shot dead by terrorists in the Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. He was the Congress Sarpanch of Lokbowan Larkipora, was fired upon by the terrorists while he was working in his orchard in Anantnag.
