CDS Bipin Rawat satisfied with high morale of soldiers at LAC

New Delhi, Jan 4: On completion of a year of duty as the Chief of Defence Staff, CDS Bipin Rawat visited forward air bases in Eastern sector including Arunachal Pradesh and Assam. During his visit, he interacted with soldiers of the army, Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and other forces deployed in the region. He said, "Nothing can deter the Indian Armed Forces on remaining steadfast in their call of duty."

During the visit, CDS Bipin Rawat visited the forward most air-maintained post in the Dibang valley and Lohit Sector of Arunachal Pradesh. After interacting with the soldiers, the Chief witnessed the high morales of the army and shared "After seeing the high morale of the troop, I am confident that those fighting the Indian defence forces will be destroyed."

The CDS complimented and appreciated the innovative measures that the soldiers had adopted in order to maintain the effective surveillance and enhance operational readiness. He said, "Only Indian soldiers can remain vigilant in such challenging situations. They are ever willing to go well beyond their call of duty to safeguard the borders."
 
 
 
The visit in significant considering the time when during the military standoff between India and China along LAC, in Eastern Ladakh and North Eastern India, both the Indian army and Indian Air Force (IAF) have been deployed together to remain on their toes to tackle any aggression. India and China have deployed around 50,000 troops along the LAC. The role of CDS Bipin Rawat is vital in the implementation of the counter measures of the Indian forces in the Ladakh sector and elsewhere along the LAC.
 
The visit was planned for two days, starting from Jan 2. On the second day of his visit (Jan 3), CDS Bipin Rawat visited the army and ITBP personnel deployed in the forward most sir maintained post along Subansiri valley in Arunachal Pradesh. The Chief returned back to the capital, later the same day.
