BMC files FIR against Sohail Khan, Arbaaz Khan for violation of Covid-19 protocol

Mumbai, January 04: In a major development, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) registers FIR against Salman Khan’s brothers Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan, and Sohail’s son Nirvaan Khan for breaking Covid-19 protocol.
 
The complaint has been registered under Section 188 (disobedience to an order duly promulgated by a public servant), section 269 (a negligent act which is likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) of IPC and Section 3 of Epidemic Diseases Act.

BMC officials said, "Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) registers FIR against actor Sohail Khan & his son as well as actor Arbaaz Khan for violating COVID norms.
 
As per the BMC, the trio had returned to Mumbai from Dubai on December 25. They were asked to remain in quarantine in a hotel however they decided to skip the isolation and went home.
 
 
"An FIR has been filed at Khar police station. The BMC medical officer has complained that three people, who have returned from abroad, were supposed to undergo quarantine, but skipped the same and went home. A case has been filed and an investigation is currently underway," Chaitanya S DCP (Operations), Mumbai Police said.
 
The trio has been now asked to get an institutional quarantined at Hotel Taj Lands' end at their own cost. A team of officials would be sent for the same if they do not move to the quarantine on their own.
 
According to the existing norms, the returnees from the UK and UAE as well as Europe are required to undergo a seven-day institutional quarantine. The norms were put in place by the state government after a new strain of coronavirus surfaced from the UK.
