Islamabad, December 06:In a very miserable development, Pakistan's Defence Minister Pervaiz Khattak tried to justify the bone-chilling incident of the brutal lynching of Sri Lankan national Priyantha Kumara in Sialkot. He said  kids do such things in their passion, which doesn’t mean things are bad.

While speaking to the media, Khattak said that the people behind the lynching were emotional youths who acted because of Islamic sentiments. He attempted to defend the accused, saying such murders take place when young people get emotional.

He added that young boys entering adulthood are "ready to do anything" and that they would "learn with age how to control their emotions". Khattak further added that even he could do wrong things in a state of heightened emotions.

"You know the reasons [behind this incident] too. When children ... grow up, they become spirited and do things out of emotion. This does not mean 'this was the result of that action'," Khattak said.

"...this happens among kids, fights take place and even murders. [Does] this mean it is the government's fault?" he questioned.

Continuing his sham remarks over the incident, he suggested that the merciless killing of Priyantha Kumara did not mean anything significant (in terms of radicalisation) of the Pakistani society. He added that such incidents do not mean that "Pakistan is going towards destruction.
