Bollywood ignoramuses are always at their forefront to showcase their never-ending love towards Mughals. This time it is Bollywoods one of self-proclaimed intellectual, film director Kabir Khan who recently uttered that Mughals were the original nation builders. He goes further and adds that he finds it 'problematic and disturbing' to watch films that demonise the Mughals because they're made 'just to go with the popular narrative' and aren't based on 'historical evidence'.

While giving an interview to the Hungama he said, "Films made on the Mughal Empire have done justice to the Mughals". He also said that the Mughals were the original nation builders and showing them in the wrong light isn’t right. He further uttered that filmmakers demonize Mughals and showed them as villains without even checking the facts and historical evidence.

The director said, "If you want to demonise the Mughals, please base it on some research and make us understand why; why they were the villains that you think they were. Because if you do some research and read history, it's very tough to understand why they have to be villainized. I think they were the original nation-builders, and to write them off and say they murdered people... But what are you basing it on? Please point out the historical evidence. Please have an open debate, just don't go with the narrative that you think will be popular."

While continuing his nonsense which will probably be praised by the liberals, he said villainizing the Muslim leaders is the easiest thing today. He further said he has no respect for such films. He added, "It's the easiest thing today, demonising the Mughals and various other Muslim rulers that India had at different points in its history.

Trying to fit them into preconceived stereotypes is distressing. I cannot respect those films, unfortunately. That's my personal opinion, of course, I can't speak for larger audiences, but I get upset by those kinds of portrayals."
At this point, we would like to remind you of the real meaning of Nation-building to Khan. Nation-building is defined as the process of constructing or structuring a national identity using the power of the regime to create physical infrastructure, architecture, institutions, and civic structures to concretize and serve public life & ensure the future of a nation.

To qualify as nation builders, Mughal literature should demonstrate evidence of knowledge of the science of building, architecture, construction techniques, engineering, etc. However, if we go through the 30 most famous treatises of Mughal history (the evidence which Khan was talking about,) we didn't get any kind of proof that suggests that Mughal's were the original nation builders. From 30 not one of them includes the process of the treatises on techniques of construction, building, or architectural sciences.

There are some structures constructed by the Mughal, however, non one of them is a civic structure, they are all palaces, fortresses, or tombs for Mughal royalty's personal use or Islamic mosques that were usually built on destroyed Hindu temples.

While on the other hand if we see evidence of Hindu knowledge of construction & architecture we see a mind-blowing reference of Nation-building. Even after excluding the Puranas & manuscripts about decorating buildings, there are mind-boggling 141 Hindu treatises that are completely or partially about the science of architecture & construction techniques. Some of these treatises are at least 2500 years old by accepted standards. If we go more deeply into it we found it was not Mughals but it was Hindus who were the original nation builders.
