A complaint against the comedian-actor was made on Monday at the Vyalikaval police station in Karnataka. In a complaint, the group claimed that the "Comedian" hurts the religious sentiments of Hindus and shows India in a bad light. It further added that his caustic stand-up performances have caused him to face controversy in the past.

The group also referred to Das' controversial 'two Indias' quip at a show in the United States in November last year; "... earlier he made derogatory statements against women, our prime minister, and India at John F Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.... denigrated the nation."

"In this background, it is not right to allow such a controversial person to hold such a program in a communally sensitive area like Bangalore. When Karnataka is already facing many law and order problems due to communal incidents, such events could vitiate law and order," the group wrote in the complaint.

It should be reminded that last year, Das under the name of the comedy had insulted India and deliberately hurt the sentiments of the Hindu religion during his performance in Washington DC, US.

During his monologue named 'I come from two Indias', he ranted, 'In India, we worship women in the day and rape them at night... He further continued and said, “I come from an India where journalism is supposedly dead because men in fancy studios, in fancy suits, give each other handjobs, and yet women on road with laptops are telling the truth.”
