On Monday, IN-SPACe, an independent agency under the Department of Space (DoS), and Chennai-based Data Patterns (India) Limited, a vertically integrated provider of defense and aerospace electronics solutions, signed a licensing and transfer of technology (ToT) deal for the the Radar capabilities.
Mr. Guppuswamy, Vice President of Data Patterns (India) Limited, Mr. Arunachalam, Director of NSIL, Mr. Rajeev Jyoti, Technical Director of IN-SPACe, and Mr. Guppuswamy signed the ToT agreement.
The technology was created at ISRO's Space Applications Centre (SAC) and is a precursor to the organization's next high resolution SAR satellite, the NISAR. IN-SPACe is responsible for making the technology available to the industry for ToT.
Kuppuswamy gave a speech at the event and stated, "We are thrilled to be affiliated with IN-SPACe."
Data Patterns will be able to produce SAR radars thanks to this technology, which will enhance the vast array of radars the company now offers.
Data Patterns anticipates that this technology will be improved by the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques for object classification and detection.
According to a statement from Data Patterns, "this alliance is also a step towards utilising India's space resources better and increasing space-based activities."
