Maharashtra: Islamist jihadists attack peaceful Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Jayanti Procession in Ahmednagar

The Extremist pelted stones on the procession and torched up a few vehicles. Some shops were also attacked and vandalized. As per the reports, a total of five people including two police officials, two home guards, and a local got injured in this incident.

In yet another incident of Hindu hatred, radical Islamists attacked the peaceful Hindu procession that was organised on the occasion of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Jayanti, in Maharashtra's Ahmednagar on Sunday. In this regard, Shevgaon police detained 32 individuals and recovered knives and swords.

A procession was taken out in Shevgaon town on the occasion of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj’s birth anniversary. When the procession reached Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk at around 8 pm on Sunday, another community allegedly tried to disrupt the proceedings by pelting stones. After which the clash broke out between the groups.
 
Meanwhile, the police intervened and brought the situation under control. Despite the situation being under control, tension still prevails in the area. Following the incident, internet services have been suspended in the district. State Reserve Police Force (SRPF), Riot Control squad, and 250 police officials have been deployed at the site of the incident.
 
 
Police have registered a case against 102 people in this matter. A case has also been registered against 50 unknown people late at night. 2 units of the State Reserve Police Force are currently deployed in Shevgaon.
 
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis while commenting about this said, "There is peace in both places (Akola and Ahmednagar). These tensions are being deliberately created by someone to create a law and order situation in the state but they will not succeed as we will not spare them. To some extent, it is (politically motivated) and some organizations are behind it."
