Lessons learnt from Nuh violence! 14 Haryana panchayats decide to 'boycott Muslims'

In awake of the Hindu genocide attempts in Nuh by the Islamists, now ourteen villages across three districts in Haryana collectively wrote to the police and district administrations, informing them of their decision to "boycott members of the Muslim community". The panchayat's decision came after the recent communal violence in Haryana.

The 14 villages are from Mahendragarh, Jhajjar and Rewari, which were among the districts that were hit by the communal clashes that started on July 31 after a Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) religious procession was attacked. Six lives have been lost and significant damage to property was caused as the violence, which started in Nuh, spread to other districts.

The letter, penned by the Hindu community of these villages, carries an appeal made to deny houses, shops and establishments to the Muslim community on rent. Furthermore, villagers are also scrutinizing the identification proof of street vendors before allowing them entry into the villages.
 
It should be reminded that, Islamists attacked Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) religious procession on July 31. Within a span of hours, the mob violence seeped into adjoining areas, including Sonipat and Gurugram which is next to the national capital.
 
Over 200 people have been arrested so far and 80 taken into preventive detention in connection with the violence in the BJP-ruled state. There are reports hinting that the July 31 violence was pre- planned.
