Following the detection of the IED, security forces tightened and halted the traffic movement in Baramulla. Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was summoned to neutralise the suspected IED.

The BDS safely relocated the suspicious object to nearby fields and destroyed it through a controlled explosion without causing any damage.

Earlier on September 3, security forces found IED-like material on a national highway at Sangpur village of the border district of Rajouri and destroyed it. The IED was planted inside a tiffin box and was found lying on the roadside by the army’s road opening party at the village Sangpur along the Jammu-Poonch National Highway.
