Amid ongoing controversy over the Udhayanidhi Stalin's derogatory remarks about Sanatan Dharma, it seems like the INDIA alliance, especially Congress dynasties has formally extended support to his remark.

On the top of the list, Karnataka Information Technology-Biotechnology (IT-BT) minister and a fellow 'INDIA' bloc leader, Priyank Kharge, also jumped into controversy. While defending Udhay's statement, Priyank said, “Any religion that does not promote equality or does not ensure you have the dignity of being a human being is not a religion.”
"Any religion that does not promote equality, any religion that doesn't ensure that you have the dignity of being a human being is not a religion, according to me. So it is as good as a disease," Priyank, the son of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, said on Monday, 4 September.

Following Priyank, Karti Chidambaram, son of P. Chidambaram, supported Udhayanidhi Stalin's derogatory remarks about Sanatan Dharma saying Sanatan Dharma is a code of Hierarchical Society. “Sanatan Dharma is nothing but code for a Caste Hierarchical Society. All those batting for it are hankering for the Good Ole Days! Caste is the Curse of India,” he said.
It should be noted that the, on 2 September, Udhayanidhi Stalin Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Development of Tamil Nadu said, “Mosquitoes, dengue, flu, malaria, corona – we should not oppose these things. They’ve to be eradicated".
“The same is the case with Santanam (Hinduism). Our first work should be to abolish/eradicate Sanatanam instead of opposing it. So, my appreciation to you all for giving an apt title to the meeting,” he stated.
Taking note of the development the Legal Rights Observatory has asked the judiciary who earlier asked Nupur Sharma to apologise, to take a look into the matter and demanded action against these three.
