In a recent interview, External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar has left attendees both applauding and amused with his quick and witty response.

This came after Jaishankar was at an Indian Express event called 'Express Adda' in which he spoke about various aspects of India's identity on global platforms, but one remark caught attention in rapid fire round.

When asked whether he preferred India or Bharat as the name for the country, Jaishankar's prompt and resolute response left the audience applauding.

"India or Bharat, which name would you prefer any host country to refer as?" Anant Goenka, Executive Director, The Indian Express Group asked. "Bharat," responded Jaishankar firmly.

Further, Goenka queried what lesson American diplomats could learn from their Indian counterparts, to which Jaishankar's retort was met with a wave of applause: "Speak better English."



Moreover, Jaishankar also spoke about India-China conflict along the LAC saying that the situation is “very tense and dangerous” and it’s in the common interest of both countries to not have “that many forces on the Line of Actual Control (LAC)
