Ahmedabad, Mar 25: The fans seem to not like Hardik Pandya donning the role of Mumbai Indians skipper as they booed him in the match against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.
Pandya, making his debut as MI skipper, was booed by the fans when he came out for the toss while chants of 'Rohit Rohit' (former captain Rohit Sharma) reverberated throughout the entire stadium. During the toss, when Ravi Shastri introduced the captains, Pandya was met with boos from the fans.

However, what did not go down well with fans was Pandya being disrespectful towards Rohit Sharma. In a video that went viral on the internet, Hardik Pandya "ordered" Rohit Sharma onto the field
The incident took place in the final over of the Titans’ innings. Pandya was seen asking Rohit Sharma to go to long-on and the former Mumbai Indians captain could not believe it as he double-checked it before running towards the boundary. Notably, Rohit Sharma hardly ever fields near the boundary.
Speaking about the match Mumbai Indians in the opening match was defeated as the Hardik Pandya-led franchise went down to Gujarat Titans by 6 runs on Sunday. After the match, Hardik could be seen coming from behind to hug Rohit. But, the former MI captain turned around and looked frustrated as he held an intense chat with the successor. This was also captured and went viral on social media.
