A 27-year-old Hindu woman from Bihar has alleged that she was deceived into a live-in relationship by a Muslim man who allegedly concealed his identity and introduced himself as "Suresh Yadav". The woman, a single mother of a three-year-old daughter, claims that she later discovered his real identity as Shahid Parvez, after which he repeatedly attempted to persuade her to convert to Islam and marry him through Nikah.

According to the woman's account, Shahid Parvez came into contact with her through Instagram in 2023. Using the name SK Yadav, he allegedly presented himself as a Hindu man named Suresh Yadav. After months of conversation, the two met and eventually entered into a relationship. The woman says Parvez promised to marry her, support her daughter and take care of household expenses, convincing her to move in with him at a DDA flat in Delhi's Kalkaji area in 2024.

The woman alleges that nearly a year later she discovered that Parvez was not only Muslim but was already married and had a son. When confronted, he allegedly admitted to concealing his identity, telling her that she would never have agreed to the relationship had she known the truth.

Following the revelation, the woman claims Parvez took her to several mosques in Delhi in an effort to convert her to Islam and solemnise a Nikah. However, according to her, clerics at multiple mosques refused to perform the ceremony, citing concerns including the significant age difference between the two.

The most striking incident allegedly occurred at a mosque in Delhi's Okhla Mandi area. The woman claims a cleric there asked her to recite the Kalma before proceeding with the conversion and Nikah. When she was unable to do so, the cleric reportedly refused to conduct the ceremony and asked Parvez to leave.

According to the woman, the cleric remarked: "I can take care of the police, but I cannot tackle the Bajrang Dal people."

The woman alleges that despite the refusal, Parvez later made her sign a document written in Urdu, claiming it was a Nikahnama. A rent agreement dated March 2025 reportedly described her as "Sibra Parvez, wife of Shahid Parvez."

The woman further claims that in March 2026 she discovered another fact that had allegedly been hidden from her: that Parvez also had an 18-year-old daughter.

The relationship took another turn on June 9, 2026, when, according to the woman, Shahid Parvez suddenly disappeared from their residence with his belongings. His mobile phone was switched off, and he could not be contacted. She also alleged that several pieces of gold jewellery, including earrings, a nose ring, a necklace and a maang tikka, went missing from the house.

A formal complaint has been submitted to Kalkaji Police Station and the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC). Authorities have not yet issued a public statement regarding the allegations.
