Rahuri: Mahammad Vairagar threatens college-going minor, forces her to marry; booked under BNS, POCSO

On Tuesday, July 14, Rahuri Police registered a case against one identified as Mahammad Vairagar under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita as well as the POCSO Act for molesting a minor college student while threatening to marry her or else kill her and her family members. According to the complaint, the incident took place in the vicinity of the Agricultural University in Rahuri taluka.

Similarly, on the evening of July 7, the accused reportedly called one of the victim's relatives and threatened that he would show their photos to the boy she was engaged to be married to, adding that he would bring people from their community to the wedding and warned: "Then see what happens."
 

Unable to bear the continuous harassment, the victim filed a complaint at the Rahuri police station. Based on this, a case has been registered against Mahammad Vairagar (resident of Brahmani, Rahuri taluka) under Sections 74, 351(2), and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, as well as under the POCSO Act.
