BJP national president Nitin Nabin has rolled out his new organisational team, bringing together senior party stalwarts alongside younger leaders in a major reshuffle. The
revamped lineup includes prominent names such as Manpreet Singh Badal, Smriti Irani, and Vasundhara Raje, reflecting the party's effort to combine seasoned political experience from across states with a broader organisational reach.
The reshuffle
marks a significant step in the BJP's push to strengthen its national structure and hand greater responsibility to veteran leaders. The changes are expected to balance experienced leaders with a new generation of youth and women, reflecting a broader generational shift within the party.
In a notable comeback, former Union Minister Smriti Irani has returned to the BJP's top leadership as National General Secretary, marking her re-entry into the party's central organisational setup under Nabin's reshuffle.
A notification issued this morning also listed former National General Secretary Ram Madhav among 13 National Vice Presidents named in the new team, of whom five are women, underlining the party's emphasis on greater representation for women in senior roles.
In another key change, Amit Malviya has been replaced as the BJP's IT Cell chief, with Deepak Mhaskey from Chhattisgarh taking over the position. Meanwhile, Anil Baluni continues in his role as the party's Media-in-Charge, ensuring continuity in the communications wing even as other posts see fresh faces.
The organisational revamp is going to be extremely crucial for the BJP, as it prepares for assembly elections and ultimately the 2029 Lok Sabha polls. Nabin assumed office as the BJP's national president on January 20, but his team was yet to be finalised. The BJP top brass, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, held several rounds of discussions to finalise Nabin's new team.
