Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 22: Reacting to the alleged rumors of misappropriation in Kerala disaster relief fund, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that stringent action will be taken against the anti-social elements for spreading rumors and fake news
The Chief Minister’s office, in a series of Tweets, assured that state government is committed to providing aid to deserving people. Vijayan urged people not to pay heed to the unverified social media news and reports. He informed that grants were released directly to bank accounts of victim/families.
The Chief Minister directed Police administration to take strict measures against cyber offenders. He further mentioned that state machinery is keeping a close eye on social media traffic to counter the fraudulent messages/posters.
Citing the unprecedented flood situation in the state, Vijayan urged people to contribute to CMDRF to rebuild the lives of people in the impacted areas.
