Kolkata, June 10: Reeling under the nuisance of undemocratic rule, the state of West Bengal has turned into a Kurukshetra of violence. The unabated violence in the past few weeks have slated the failure of West Bengal police to maintain law and order in the state. Taking cognizance of the continuous violence, the Centre has strongly advised the state government to ensure that all necessary measures are taken to maintain law and order, peace and public tranquillity in the state.
The Home Ministry has issued an advisory to the state government following the continuous. The unabated violence over the past weeks appears to be a failure on the part of the law enforcement machinery of the state to maintain the rule of law and inspire confidence among people.
"The unabated violence over the past weeks appears to be a failure on the part of the law enforcement machinery of the state to maintain the rule of law and inspire confidence among people," the advisory said. "It is strongly advised to ensure that all necessary measures are taken to maintain law and order, peace and public tranquillity. It is also requested to take strict action against officials found delinquent in the discharge of their duty," it said.
