The innovator and engineer have created solar-heated military tents that will provide effective and warm accommodations to the security personnel in higher altitudes places. The tent is eco-friendly and portable as it weighs less than 30 kilograms. One such tent can accommodate 10 security personnel.

According to the photo shared by the Wanghchuk, the tent can keep the Army men warm at 15 degrees even when it is -14 degrees outside.Praising his noteworthy efforts, Anand Mahindra said in a tweet, “Sonam, you’re the MAN! I salute you. Your work is energising, even this late in the evening...”

Recently, he had also designed a pre-fabricated solar heated mud hut for the usage of the Indian Armed Forces at high altitudes.

The innovation is a great example of the Aatmnirbhar Bharat. The new solar-powered tents are extremely efficient and are a perfect solution to address the accommodation issues in such harsh conditions.

It should be noted that the lack of access to electricity at higher altitudes is always a critical priority for the Indian Armed Forces. Over the years, Army was using a heavy amount of kerosene, firewood, and diesel just to stay warm in the chilling environment.
