New Delhi, Apr 17: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has good news for the citizens. This year the Monsoon will be normal all over the country but for some parts of eastern and northeastern India. The rains always play truant with farmers, but this year they may expect good rainfall for the kharif season.

The IMD said that the country is likely to receive 96 to 104 percent of the long period average (LPA) of 88 cm rainfall which is considered normal. Skymet, a private weather forecasting agency also predicted that India would get normal rainfall around 103 percent of the LPA.

The forecast made in April based on the analysis of some select weather factors in March, is again updated in May predicting the behavior of the monsoon in various geographical regions.
