WATCH: Violent mob of farmers attacks, tears clothes of BJP leader Kailash Meghwal in Rajasthan

Sri Ganganagar, July 31: Farmers in Rajasthan’s Sri Ganganagar attacked and assaulted BJP’s leader Kailash Meghwal who had arrived to participate in a BJP protest against irrigation and inflation. The violent farmers while attacking tore the clothes of BJP’s Scheduled Castes Morcha chief.

In the video, the BJP leader can be seen being assaulted by an angry and violent mob. Even a person can be seen kicking the BJP leader and others pushing and tearing his clothes, while two police personnel run to the rescue.
 
 
According to reports, BJP had organized a protest against the Rajasthan government near the DM’s office in Sri Ganganagar. The program was opposed by members of the Samyukt Kisan Morcha who started sloganeering against the BJP near the venue.

When Meghwal arrived, the farmer protestors reportedly got agitated seeing the BJP symbols with the leader. Meghwal was attacked and shoved around by a violent mob of SKU members.
 
 
The party condemned the incident calling it unfortunate with BJP’s state president Satish Poonia saying that violence has no place in a democracy.

Deputy Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly, Rajendra Rathore, later tweeted, “The law and order situation in the state is extremely worrying. The BJP’s programme in Sri Ganganagar was predetermined. Police remained a mute spectator during the attack on Dalit leader Kailash Meghwal. It is a failure of police administration.”
