Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has been in the limelight again for the wrong reasons. According to the reports, he is in Kathmandu, Nepal. He is in Kathmandu to attend the wedding of his Nepali friend Sumnima Udas. Her father, Bhum Udas served as Nepali Ambassador to Myanmar.
As per the Kathmandu Post report, Sumnima Udas, a former CNN correspondent, is getting married to Nima Martin Sherpa. A formal reception will be held on 5th May at Hyatt Regency hotel in Bauddha. Rahul Gandhi along with his friends is staying at the Kathmandu Marriott hotel.
However, videos and images have gone viral on the internet partying that could be from his recent trip to Kathmandu. A video has been shared on Twitter by BJP leader Amit Malaviya. Amit Malaviya taking to Twitter wrote, "Rahul Gandhi was at a nightclub when Mumbai was under seize. He is at a nightclub at a time when his party is exploding. He is consistent. Interestingly, soon after the Congress refused to outsource their presidency, hit jobs have begun on their Prime Ministerial candidate..."
Another speculation that is making rounds is that the image of Rahul Gandhi who is with a woman happens to be China's ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanqi.
Congress party has mocked PM Narendra Modi for visiting Europe for enhancing bilateral relations but their own party has ignored the fact that Rahul Gandhi was seen partying with the Chinese ambassador to Nepal in a bar.
Users have claimed the bar he is visited Thamel which is also known as Las Vegas Of Nepal.
Some of the BJP leaders have shared the video on Twitter and slammed the Congress leadership amidst communal clashes in Rajasthan where the party is in power.
Union law minister Kiren Rijiju tweeted, "Regular Parties, Vacations, Holidays, Pleasure Trips, Private Foreign Visits etc are nothing new to the nation now. As a private citizen there's no issue at all but when an MP, a permanent boss of a national political party who keeps preaching others....."
BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala also questioned Rahul’s leadership amidst tensions in Rajasthan. "Rajasthan burns but Rahul Gandhi prefers partying over his own party. He tweets about various crisis in India but prefers bars over ‘Bharat ke log’. Rahul is not even a part-time politician but a ‘party time’ politician. Not the first time… remember his party mode post 26/11," tweeted Poonawala.
BJP leader and spokesperson Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga tweeted, "Rahul Bhaiya in party mood after finishing Congress."
It should be noted that the video came at a time Amethi MP Smriti Irani is visiting Wayanad, Rahul Gandhi’s constituency. Moreover, Rahul Gandhi lost Amethi, the Gandhi family bastion, to Irani in 2019 elections.
