General Manoj Pande receives his first international Guard of Honor as Army Chief in Dhaka

General Manoj Pande COAS received an impressive Guard of Honor at Senakunja Bangladesh. He also planted a tree to commemorate the friendship between the two armies.

Dhaka, Jul 18: Indian Army Chief who is on a three day visit to Bangladesh, received a Guard of Honor at a convention center of the Bangladesh Armed Forces in Dhaka, today (Jul 18). The Indian Army Chief is visiting the neighboring country to further strengthen defence and bilateral ties between the two nations.

According to the tweet of the Indian Army, "General Manoj Pande COAS received an impressive Guard of Honor at Senakunja Bangladesh. He also planted a tree to commemorate the friendship between the two armies." Through another tweet the army mentioned, "General Manoj Pande laid the wreath at ShikhaAnirban and paid the tributes to the bravehearts who laid down their lives for the liberation of Bangladesh."
 
 
 
 
 
According to the official statement of the Indian army, in his first first foreign visit since assumption as Army Chief, Chief of Army Staff General Manoj Pande, has proceeded on a visit to the Bangladesh, starting today (Jul 18) to Jul 20. In continuation with the excellent bilateral defence ties between India and Bangladesh, the Army Chief commenced his visit by paying tributes to the 1971 war brave-hearts.
 
 
The earlier year; 2021, marked the golden jubilee of the historic Bangladesh liberation war of 1971, as well as 50 years of diplomatic relations between the two neighbours; India and Bangladesh. The year was also special since it marked the birth centenary of Father of Bangladesh, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. During his visit, the Indian Army Chief will visit the Bangabandhu Military Museum at Mirpur. The visit of the COAS will further deepen the bilateral relationships between the two Armies and act as a catalyst for closer coordination and cooperation between the two countries on a host of strategic issues.
