The petition has been filed by Gau Mahasabha leader Ajay Gautam and the letter petitioner has been sent to Chief Justice of India NV Ramana. Notably, the remarks by SC judges were made while rejecting the writ petition of Nupur Sharma to make all FIRs into one against her and transfer them to Delhi.

Ajay Gautam has requested the court to issue orders to Justice Surya Kant to withdraw his observations while hearing the petition of Nupur Sharma, so that she gets the chance of a fair trial. He also requested that the comments of Justice Kant should be declared uncalled for.

The CJI has also been requested to direct fast track the trial keeping in mind the threats made to Nupur Sharma.

On Friday, the SC stated over a hearing a case of Nupur Sharma, "She has threatened the security of the nation. She should apologise to the whole country. Supreme Court says she and her loose tongue has set the entire country on fire. Her outburst is responsible for the unfortunate incident at Udaipur, where a tailor was murdered."

However, it is being reported that none of the comments by the Supreme Court against the ex-BJP spokesperson has made it to the formal written order. The bench of Justices Surya Kant and JB Pardiwala refused to admit the plea and allowed the counsel of Nupur Sharma to withdraw the petition.
