New Delhi, August 12: In a major development, the Department of Posts has sold more than 1 core national flag, through its 1.5 lakh post offices as well as online, within a short span of ten days. The Ministry of Communication gave the information in a press release.
“Department of Posts (DoP) with its omnipresent network of 1.5 lakh post offices, has taken the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ program to every citizen of the country. Within a short span of 10 days, India Post has sold more than 1 crore national flags, through post offices as well as online, to citizens,” the statement said.
For unreserved, the Department of Posts is selling the National Flag at a very nominal rate. India post office is selling the National Flag for just Rs 25. The size of the flag is 20 x 30 inches and is available for just 25 rupees.
Under the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' program, the DoP is also providing free doorstep delivery to any address across the country. Till now the department has delivered more than 1,75 lakh flag door steps across the country.
The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign is part of the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav,’ which will be held from August 13 to 15 to commemorate India’s 75th anniversary of independence.‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ is a campaign under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to encourage people to bring the Tiranga home and to hoist it to mark the 75th year of India’s independence.
Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence and the glorious history of India’s people, culture, and achievements.
