New Delhi, Mar 16: Asle Toje, Deputy leader of the Nobel Prize Committee on Wednesday hinted upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to become a contender for the Nobel Peace Prize. He also lauded PM Modi for contributing to making India a developed country.
Calling India a legacy of peace, Asle Toje said India is destined to be a superpower. Further, he said PM Modi is the most trusted leader for stopping war and only he can establish peace.
He said, "I am happy that Modi is not only working to take India forward but also working on those issues which are important for peace in the world. The world needs to learn from India. It is certain that India will become a super power."
Every leader in the world should work for peace and a powerful leader like Narendra Modi has much more ability to do so, he added.
Asle Toje is the deputy leader of the Norwegian Nobel committee. It is the committee that decides the Nobel Peace prize winner. The committee has arrived in India and in one of the interviews with ABP News, Asle Toje said PM Modi is one of the most reliable faces of peace in the world.
Asle Toje also added that India plays a vital role in halting the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.
