Poonch, Feb 15: In a shocking development, Pakistan sets forests in the Digwar Sector of the LoC in Poonch on fire, raising concerns of infiltrating terrorists into Indian territory. This repeated pattern by Pakistan has prompted security forces to be on a high alert.

This came after the Indian Army received intelligence indicating a significant number of trained terrorists awaiting opportunities to breach the Indian side.

Reports suggest that the fire started from the Sidhiya area of Pakistan's Nagarkot village along the Line of Control and reached close to the forward posts of the Indian Army in the Poonch district's Digwar sector.

This incident follows a recent attempt by the Pakistani Army to disrupt Indian surveillance equipment using a similar modus operandi at the Line of Control in Mendhar's Manakote area of the Poonch district to facilitate infiltration from the Pakistan side.

This also came against the backdrop where Pakistan Rangers Wednesday evening resorted to unprovoked small arms fire at a BSF post along the internal border in R S Pura sector of Jammu and Kashmir violating the 2021 ceasefire agreement with its Indian counterpart. BSF spokesperson here said the security force personnel “befittingly responded” to the unprovoked firing by Pakistan Rangers that started around 5.50 pm and stopped around 6.15 pm.
