The much-anticipating trailer of ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’ was unveiled on March 4. Directed by Randeep Hooda, who also essays the role of Savarkar, the film promises to be more than just a biopic and its official note mentions that it will be an epic and daring retelling of India’s armed revolution for independence. Covering his journey from his dream to make Akhand Bharat, to planning against the British unitedly, to being imprisoned twice, it speaks volumes of him being a more than revolutionary leader.

Speaking to ANI, Randeep shared his views on Vinayak Damodar Savarkar and what audience can expect from the film. "It is an anti-propaganda film. The film will bust all the propaganda against Veer Savarkar that has been going on for so many years. He was called 'maafiveer', 'kayar'...so with this film, we have tried to tell the truth to the audience," he said.

‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’ is set to hit cinemas worldwide on March 22. Produced by Zee Studios, Anand Pandit, Sandeep Singh, Randeep Hooda, and Yogesh Rahar, it is co-produced by Roopa Pandit, Sam Khan, Anwar Ali, and Panchali Chakraborty. Starring Randeep Hooda, Ankita Lokhande, and Amit Sial, the film will release in two languages - Hindi and Marathi.
