New dimension of India-Egypt ties: Egypt offers its Excellence Centers for training Indian Sports Teams

Cairo, November 6: Youth power is always the driving force of world’s development. With an aim to engage youth from around the globe in a platform, World Youth Forum started on Sunday. Along with over 100 countries, India is also participating in the forum. Union Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore has reached Egypt to attend the event. On the sidelines of the event, he met his counterpart Khaled Abd El Aziz. They talked about youth-related issues and sports.

The bilateral relationship between two of oldest civilizations has reached a new level in recent time as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Sisi of Egypt have met four times. “As two oldest civilizations, we need to forcefully implement the vision of our leaders for our youth. India is a nation of youngsters and we need to provide them an environment to realize their dreams”, said Minister Rathore, who also briefed about the various initiatives by the Prime Minister on Financial inclusion, skilling the youth and the schemes like Startup India, Mudra and Make in India.

Egyptian Sports Minister offered their center of excellence like the Olympic Centre for a short-term training programme for Indian sports teams. On the other hand, Minister Rathore informed him about the decision of hiring Egyptian trainers and support staff for squash. He also asked the Egyptian Minister to encourage local students to take up seats in Indian universities meant for foreign students. He also met Serbian Minister of Youth and Sports.

Four youngsters sponsored by the Department of Youth from India are also participating the forum. The forum is a chance for youths to engage with top policy-makers in the region and network with promising youth in the region and the world that are determined to create change in the world we live in today.
